Mourns the Loss of John “Red” Pelan 
(“Reckless with Red”)

The Veterans Health Alliance of Long Island mourns the loss of John “Red” Pelan a US Army Korean War Paratrooper who served as the inspiration for the annual “Reckless with Red” Skydive Fundraiser. VHALI extends its deepest sympathies to the members of the Pelan and Salmaggi families during their time of loss. “Red” is truly an American Hero, whose strength, courage and patriotism live on in his family as well as his extended VHALI “family”. 
Visitations will be held at Weigand Brothers Inc. Funeral Home 
49 Hillside Ave. Williston Park, NY 
Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:15 am at Notre Dame RC Church, 45 Mayfair Road New Hyde Park, NY 11040

Interment will be Monday in Calverton National Cemetery.
